Writing assignment: “Why is running my own business a way to guarantee my employment in a decade?” Write 250-500 words (452 words in principle, 170 words in practice).
IN PRINCIPLE, ‘TEN YEARS AFTER’ TOWARD 2030
What are benefits of self-employment with an enterprise? With right practices it can lead to a reliable cash flow for the family budget. There can be developed a close relation to a personal “calling.” For a Christian example, the application of educational technology to the Great Commission from Jesus Christ. More benefits of self-employment are to build one’s professional reputation with satisfied customers. The decision making about services, income, staff and other business relationships can be agile by the owner. Nimble responses to opportunities are possible. There is much less disinterested outsider power to affect the destiny of the company.
The owner can focus on particular special themes. Use of creativity is with more degrees of freedom. Customer relationships over time are built and deepened. With this personal involvement there is a steadiness through ups and downs of business circumstances. Response to observed trends by the owners is crucial. They watch cultural movements on local and national liberty and aggression. Economic policies on tax rates and business regulations are noted with feedback to public policy makers. Relevant scientific research and popular publishing is read and incorporated to projections. Will engineering of improved and new products such as robotics affect design, promotion, and delivery of the enterprise for customers? Artificial intelligence and data analytics are the current prime examples of our time
Indeed, examples of a relevant trend is in the role of changing technology in education and business. It is a moving target. Every six months I need to do a deep dive on the state of these online industries. For instance, Moore’s law has continued to track the density of transistors on a computer chip for an increase every 18 months. But will it slow or speed up for a variety of reasons and causes? Cost of new hardware and software may or may not decrease but lead to new expensive or inexpensive launch challenges. And the cost of maintenance of systems will depend on R & D in the industry and our response to needs with robust STEM education.
What is next on the way to 2030? What ought we to work and hope to occur as a result of Kingdom progress? So, dealing with technology the “Watchman on the wall” must look out locally and worldwide. He will survey the field at various levels. A good general background in science and data is needed. And “history of science” is good training for paradigm watchers. We can see that data analytics unlock features that predict from a tsunami of empirical cases and outcomes that are tracked with rigor and accuracy. By the way, ethics with data analytics are critical for accuracy as well as liberty.
